Considering the high importance of energy resources around the world and also the accident of fuel storage centers, protecting fuel storage tanks against the destructive effects of lightning and system fault flows is of particular importance. In this regard, the use of earthing and connector systems and co-tansilization designed according to the world’s standards is vital.
The equipment used to connect the roof of the floating tanks with the tank body and ultimately the earthing system is known as RGA (Retractable Grounding Assembly) OR (RBC) (Retractable Bypass Conductor)
The RGAs or RBCs manufactured by Leitech Company provide a reliable direct route with very low impedance and in accordance with API 545 and NFPA 780 standards, providing a suitable connection between the floating roof of the tanks and the earthing system.

As you know, according to API 545 standard, the minimum number of RGA required for connecting the roof of the tanks is 2 provided that their distance from each other is not more than 30 meters. You can refer to the side table for ease of design.
